Tjampuhan Hotel located at a bank of the holy Tjampuhan river, the traditional village arts and culture Ubud, 45 minutes from a capital city Denpasar, Ngurah Rai Airport. Hotel Tjampuhan is set in a lush tropical Bali garden and river view. 67 pleasant cottages overlooking the picturesque Ubud valley, only a short stroll from the Ubud, monkey forest, the Puri Lukisan Museum of Balinese Art, the former king's palace and traditional former market. 

Built in 1928 for guests of the Prince of Ubud, the Hotel Tjampuhan came to prominence in 1934 when it became the starting point for Pita Maha, an artists' association founded by Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati and the noted Western artists Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet. Pita Maha, which translates as "Great Shining", became the artistic force which fostered and promoted the talents of such Bali greats as I Gusti Nyoman Lempad, Made Poleng, Gusti Ketut Kobot and Gusti Made Deblog.

Drinks are served at the Pool Bar over-looking the valley and a choice of films are on show daily at the Movie Lounge. Our Room Service is available for meals & snacks 24 hours a day.


The Spa: 
A unique grotto setting, decorated with traditional carvings and stonework, is set into the river valley, offering hot and cold whirlpool baths, sauna and steam rooms. A program of health treatments is available for guests, including traditional Balinese, Swedish, and Accupressure Massages. The Mandi Lulur rejuvenating cream bath, boreh spiced Massage, body rub and herb facial massages are also provided. 
The Spa Facilities include: 2 Sauna rooms, 2 Steam rooms, hot jaccuzzi, aqua medic therapy area, massage room.

Outer Healing Activities (consist of a combination of Trekking, Cycling and Rafting with refreshments served after the program.)

Tjampuhan Ubud offers 66 individual dwellings built in traditional Balinese style are scattered among landscaped terraces and gardens, offering private views of the tropical river valleys and the 900-year-old Gunung Lembah temple complex which marks the meeting of the sacred Oos and Tjampuhan rivers.
The Hotel offers one Walter Spies House, 18 Raja Room with Airconditioning , 14 Raja Room without Airconditioning and 4 Agung Rooms.

Raja Rooms:
Elevated to capture the nurturing ambience of where two mystical rivers unite, the Raja Room is a legacy of Balinese design with authentic thatched roofing and artistic wood work. Fully air-conditioned for comfort, this room with its expanse of glass windows features a private terrace that literally embraces the precious landscape of towering greenery and perfumed native foliage. A traditional retreat from the outside world, the Raja Room encourages feelings of calm and clarity.

Agung Room

Reflecting a style that is classically Balinese, the comfortably appointed Agung Room with a private terrace provides a restful niche that is cooled by a simple overhead ceiling fan to fulfill the needs of travellers'. An uncomplicated décor emphasizes the use of natural materials and pieces of local artwork in a conscious effort to retain the traditional charm of the tropics

The hearth of the Tjampuhan Hotel is the former home of the famous artist Walter Spies, the house offering 2 storeys comfort and seclusion with excellent facilities, supplemented by a chioce of air-conditioned or fan cooled rooms, bathroom (shower, WC), mini-bar.


The "RAJA" rooms are lardger than "AGUNG" rooms and overlooking the river,  both type of rooms are using the bamboo and antique wood carving furniture.
All rooms have private bath with (hot & cold shower, WC), ceiling fan / AC in the room, large veranda.
